The Cedar Hill Recreation Center won the 2007 Texas Recreation & Park Society (TRAPS) Recreation Facility Design Award, presented at the 2008 Annual Institute in San Angelo. Sally Gavlik, immediate past president of TRAPS, presented the award to Dan Henke (left), project manager with F&S Partners, and Steve Meadors, director of parks and recreation for the City of Cedar Hill, Texas. This is the fifth industry design award bestowed on the building.

F&S Partners is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and practices sustainable design. The firm's environmentally responsible practices include:
- Recycling of paper waste (6,700 lbs and counting)
- Filtered tap water for drinking in lieu of bottled water
- Electronic review and transfer of design documents and submittals
- Electronic transfer of project and client correspondence
- Re-use of existing office systems furniture and other furniture
- Use of existing concrete flooring, which minimizes material use
